The Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, on Wednesday attended the weekly Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting sporting President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election campaign cap, and presented a ‘Ghana-must-go’ bag full of same to be distributed to his colleagues.
Shortly before the commencement of the meeting presided over by Buhari at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the minister handed over the bag to the council’s secretariat staffers, who are saddled with the responsibility of distributing documents and other items to members.
The staff members were meant to distribute the caps to ministers and other council members in attendance.
Shittu donned his own blue cap, which has the logo of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the message, “Continuity ’19: Muhammadu Buhari/Osinbajo” inscribed on it.
Last Saturday, the Communications minister inaugurated the South-West Zonal Office of Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organisation in Ibadan, Oyo State. The caps which he brought to the cabinet meeting may be part of the souvenirs produced for the Ibadan event.
Newsworth recalls that former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo had only yesterday advised President Buhari to perish the thought of seeking re-election in 2019, as he accused the incumbent of performing below expectations.
