NAF pilots survive helicopter mishap in North-East  


An Mi-17 Helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has suffered a mishap while carrying out a mission in the ongoing counter-insurgency operation in the North East.

The incident, which happened on Monday, caused significant damage to the helicopter but there was no loss of lives from the accident.

Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Vice Marshal Olatokunbo Adesanya, said in a statement that the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, promptly directed the constitution of a board of inquiry to determine the exact cause of the incident, in line with global best practices.

According to the statement, “NAF continues to solicit the understanding and support of the general populace as it daily strives to ensure the security of Nigeria and Nigerians.”
