Damilola, daughter of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo was on Saturday joined in marriage with her hearthrob, Oluseun at a wedding service held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja.
The guests thereafter moved to the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, for the reception. President Muhammadu Buhari led top government officials and captains of industry to attend the event.
Buhari was accompanied to the reception by his wife, Aisha. State governors, ministers, presidential aides and other top government officials were present at the reception.
Damilola is pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, while Oluseun is son of Bola Shagaya, a businesswoman.
The traditional wedding had taken place at the Aso Presidential Villa on Thursday.
In some of the photographs later released by the President’s media office, Buhari and his wife were seen exchanging pleasantries with the new couple and posing for group photographs with the couple and their parents.
The president was also captured shaking hands with some state governors that included those of Akwa Ibom, Borno, Imo, Nassarawa, Ogun, Oyo, Osun and Ondo, among others.
The President’s wife supervised cutting of the cake at the reception.
She expressed the conviction that Damilola will make a good wife, having been brought up by a pastor.
Aisha went on to pray for the couple that their love will endure.
Osinbajo had announced the union exactly one month ago, writing on Twitter; “With joy and praise to the Lord, Dolly and I announce the betrothal of our daughter Oluwadamilola Osinbajo to Oluseun Bakare”.
