Osun guber: Police commission issues stern warning, deploys 40 monitoring staff

The Police Service Commission, PSC, Tuesday declared that it would deploy over 40 of its staff to monitor the conduct of Police men on electoral duties at the Osun state governorship election come Saturday, September 22.

It also warned that erring officers must be made to face the full wrath of the law.
PSC said first batch of the monitoring team was billed to leave Abuja tomorrow under the command of  Barrister Rommy Mom, a Commissioner and member of the board of the Commission.
Head, Press and Public Relations,  Ikechukwu Ani in a statement in Abuja affirmed that the Commission’s monitors will be deployed to the three Senatorial districts and 30 local government areas of the state.
The Commission’s Chairman, Alhaji Musiliu Smith,   said the Osun monitoring exercise will serve as a test run for the 2019 general elections.
Smith further explained that the PSC monitors have been availed with the guidelines for the conduct of police officers on electoral duty.
“Police Men on electoral duties in Osun State should ensure that they operate within the stipulations of the guidelines,” he said.
